National Pet Memorial Day is September 12

Dear Friends of Hartsdale Pet Cemetery - National Pet Memorial Day is on Sunday September 12, 2021. The holiday was originally created in 1972 to honor the memory of our beloved lost pets. Normally we would commemorate this special day by hosting a Blessing of the Animals ceremony. However, these are not normal times. With the health and safety of our visitors foremost in our minds, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the ceremony due to continuing risks from the pandemic. However, the good news is that the cemetery grounds are open to visitors should you wish to visit your pets’ plot. Please note that the cemetery office and restrooms are closed to the general public until further notice so please plan accordingly. We are offering to decorate your pet’s plot on Pet Memorial Day with a beautiful pot of hardy mums. To place your order please click on the link below or call us at (914) 949-2583 ext. (2). As we previously announced, this year marks our 125th year anniversary. We are offering a limited edition commemorative coin with donations of $100 or more to our Heritage Fund so please consider adding a donation to your order. They are the bridge between ourselves and others--and to who we truly are at heart. More than ever, animals are the very embodiment of the word “blessing.” source: Hartsdale Pet Cemetery newsletter
